Registration deadline for devices already on the market: 28 November 2026 (34 days left; European Commission)

The checker data is being prepared. The deadline and the guide below apply already.

What has to be registered, and by when

  • Since 28 May 2026 the actor, UDI/device, notified body and certificate, and market surveillance modules of EUDAMED are mandatory (Commission Decision (EU) 2025/2371, published 27 November 2025).
  • New devices placed on the market from 28 May 2026 must be registered before the first unit is placed on the market.
  • Devices already on the market, legacy devices included, that are still placed on the market after 28 May 2026 must be registered by 28 November 2026.

Questions

What is the EUDAMED deadline for devices already on the market?

Devices placed on the EU market before the UDI/Device module became mandatory on 28 May 2026, and still placed on the market after it, must be registered in EUDAMED within 12 months of the Commission notice published in the Official Journal on 27 November 2025: by 28 November 2026. Legacy devices (certified under the old directives) are included. New devices placed on the market from 28 May 2026 must be registered before the first unit is sold.

What is an SRN?

The Single Registration Number that EUDAMED gives each manufacturer, authorised representative and importer once the competent authority validates its actor registration, for example DE-MF-000006413 (country, role, number). A device can only be registered by a manufacturer with an SRN.

Does "no device registered" mean a company is breaking the rules?

No. A device that is no longer placed on the EU market after 28 May 2026 does not need registering, and a company may still be within the deadline. The checker shows what EUDAMED publishes; treat a gap as something to check, not as a finding.

Can I get an email when a manufacturer registers its devices?

Yes, optionally. On a manufacturer result, choose the email alert: after you confirm your address, you get one email on the day EUDAMED shows its first device, new UDI-DIs or a certificate issued, withdrawn or expiring. Free for up to 10 manufacturers, one-click unsubscribe in every email. The checker itself needs no email.
